Prior to leaving the front desk another lady arrived to assist with other people checking in. At the time of check in, I did request a frig for the room and one was brought up as soon as we arrived to the room. After a brief wait the lady who was very polite checked us in and did say she had a room for us right off the elevator as requested. It appeared the front desk was somewhat understaffed. She also had two people on hold and one person waiting behind me. One lady was at the front desk on the phone and I waited for her to get off. The plan was to arrive by 6:00, but it was evident we were not going to make it there before 7:00.I called and gave the front desk my credit card number and room was held. I was told as long as I arrived prior to 6:00 pm that no credit card was necessary. She said she would be able to take care of the request. I requested a room next to the elevator, because I had an elderly person in my group. The next day I called the direct line number and was able to reach the person at the front desk who took my reservation. I was already getting concerned as to this hotel being a wise choice. Two different calls to the toll free number went unanswered. I originally tried the book the room on line, but the website would not let me do this and directed me to a toll free numbers. ![]() Myself and two family members stayed at the Boardwalk Hotel and Casino for two nights the last week in March.
